¡Pudimos!

So yes, Spain did beat Germany in the final of Euro2008. I watched this game at home in North London (having seen the semifinal in Madrid) so I haven’t had a chance to see how Marca, As and El Mundo Deportivo handled it, but I’m very curious. So if anyone’s reading this in Spain, please send me some pictures

I was in Madrid yesterday speaking at a conference on newspaper design. I was asked to talk almost entirely about print, which hasn’t happened for a while, but the panel discussion at the end went the way these things usually go nowadays, much soul-searching about newspapers in crisis, journalism in the digital world etc. No conclusions were reached. Back (sort of)

OK, so its not mid-june. Things have been hectic since I got back from holiday and I’m off to Madrid tomorrow to talk at a conference. All of which means it will be next week before I can post properly again, but I’ll be catching up with developments at the Times (of London) and the Daily Mirror then
