Guardian iphone app
December 14th, 2009
Over the weekend, we released the first Guardian iphone app. You have to pay for it (£2.39 in the uk) but it has a lot more functionality than most of our rivals. More info here. Mainly positive reviews so far. Tell me what you think

Being a fan of The Guardian newspaper design, and then much later, the design of the Guardian website (especially the homepage), I must say that the new app design is superb and consistent with the overall identity, I like how it fully embraces the quality of this new medium.

Looks like the free Le Monde app to me.

If anyone wants to read a bit about the design process, I have written about it on my blog, johnhenrybarac@mac.com. We worked as a pretty small team building the app, and I found it interesting – having recently been a Guardian (print) art director, to be working on such a small, digital screen.
Finally we have a medium and environment which reward the kind of attention to detail which we are used to putting into newspaper design, and it seems people like the reuslts! As i write this comment the app continues to do well, being No.1 sold news app in 6 countries including Canada and Australia…
